The Canadian Machine Gun Corps (CMGC) was formed along similar lines to the British Machine Gun Corps and included both Infantry and Cavalry branches; however, it did not include Motor or Heavy branches. Furthermore, the CMGC did not differentiate between the 'I' and 'C' sections in the same way as the British (with insignia).
