The 16th Bde. M.G. Coy. was formed in February 1916 from the Machine Gun Sections of the listed infantry battalions.
On 01 March 1918, it was amalgamated with the 18th, 71st and 192nd Machine Gun Companies to form No. 6 Battalion, Machine Gun Corps.
As a unit of the 6th Infantry Division, it will have taken part in the following battles and engagements.
