A Machine Gun Company was attached to each Infantry Brigade and their subsequent Division.

Formed from the: Machine Gun Section of 1st Bn. Royal Warwickshire Regiment
Machine Gun Section of 2nd Bn. The Seaforth Highlanders
Machine Gun Section of 1st Bn. The Royal Irish Fusiliers
Machine Gun Section of 7th Bn. Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders

The 10th Bde. M.G. Coy. was formed on 22 December 1915 from the Machine Gun Sections of the listed infantry battalions.

On 26 February 1918, it was amalgamated with the 11th, 12th and 234th Machine Gun Companies to form No. 4 Battalion, Machine Gun Corps.

As a unit of the 4th Infantry Division, it will have taken part in the following battles and engagements.
