A Machine Gun Squadron was attached to each Cavalry Brigade and their subsequent Division.


Strength

The strength of the Machine Gun Corps (Cavalry) was recorded from June, 1916, until March, 1920, on a month-by-month basis.

At its peak, in October, 1918, it consisted of 315 officers and 7,757 other ranks - a total of 8,072 all ranks. A more detailed analysis is available on the MGC strength page.
