Machine Gunner Training

Small Arms School Corps:

The Small Arms School Corps (SASC) was formed in 1929 from the amalgamation of the Small Arms School, Hythe, and the Machine Gun School, Netheravon. It is the soldiers of the SASC that became the instructors at these establishments. Prior to this, the instructors were on the roll of the Small Arms School, but remained on the establishment of their parent Regiments.

The Small Arms School had been established in 1919, before which it had been referred to as the School of Musketry.
